Proof Summary William personally provided his birth place when he crossed the U.S./Canada border in 1920. He said he was born in Nauvoo, Illinois. Also, in all available census records for William he gave his birthplace as Illinois. The only record located for William with the birth place of St. Louis is his death certificate.
